The policy doesn't have to be under the deceased.
But if it is, no one else can make a claim and collect the money.
I know people that have been paying premiums on policies that are under deceased and the polices are/were considered void and they had to fight to get their money back since the money they paid didn’t cover them even if something would have happened, even though they paid the premiums

Yea that happens all the time. Probably what's happening here if he even has insurance. But it's not required that the policy holder also he the title owner.
If my parents die and I never open the succession, and then I take out my own policy on the house, I'm covered. If not the policy ends at the end of the term or if I open the succession and have a succession rep

Is there a reason that we are debating the intricacies of what could be going on with his home insurance and inheritance?

I missed a lot, but why does anyone think he is carrying insurance? Like we learned after Katrina and the BR floods, very few carry insurance if they aren't required to.

I'm way behind on this but:
1644 N DORGENOIS ST New Orleans, LA 70119
Sold on 03/24/20 Zestimate®: $323,830
That house is a piece of shite for what you could get in North Texas for $320K and you don't have to live down the street from that element of shite.
And you can have all the white street parties you want

I see now. I was thinking it was reversed 90 degrees. My aunt has a house on dabadie four blocks away from this incident. I guess the neighborhood really is gentrifying.

This is what I was wondering. The tards with the lame band (and the somewhat hot personal trainer chick) were ridiculous for blocking the street, but were they blocking angry black man's street? How was it really adversely affecting him?
