My grandfather (Dad’s father) died over 12 years ago. He was the best man I ever knew. He smoked pipes. I keep one of his pipes in my office.

I was driving in my car a couple of months ago and a song came on that really brought back memories of him. I am not much of a crier but I teared up. I can’t even remember what song it was but it just hit me for some reason. I can only hope to be half the man he was.

I wouldn't know because I never really had one. I missed out on the whole Grandpa experience. If I ever become a grandpa I'm pretty sure I won't be your typical Grandpa because I never had a role model.

I never knew my grandfather on my dads side but my grandfather on my moms side was the greatest. He died about ten years ago. I wish he could’ve met my son. I named him after my grandfather.

My grandfather was a ww2 vet and passed 2 years ago. He was a great man. His stories of war blew my mind.

Was fortunate to have both of mine for a long time. Maternal just passed last year at 97. He was the calmest person I’ve ever met or will meet, even after losing 3 of his kids early. Just wired that way.

Convinced his secret to longevity was retiring early (55), taking walks with my grandmother every morning, and very rarely drinking. They also ate every meal at home for 60 years. It became a running joke in the family, trying to get them to a restaurant.
