I don't think the cops did anything wrong there, but it sure looked like they couldn't control the situation and decided to get trigger happy with the taser. Can zapping him that much count as excessive force? It didn't look professional at all.

Definitely agree with PCP. No LSD makes you unstoppable. He's lying if he said it was just that.

That's nuts.

Did you hear the black woman say "if I was a little bit further this way that cop woulda knocked me down!" like she was the victim?

No problem with the cops here. Pretty sure a lot of dumbass cops in this country would've shot the guy.

Umm, the number of times you take the ride is completely up to the person that is resisting.

More like industry talk. The shock can stop by releasing the trigger or continue for a set amount of time aka the full ride.

Or it's up to the meat head cop's misplaced aggression taken out on some loser druggie who was more of a harm to himself than anyone else. Do they teach you to not wrap up when you tackle too? Maybe that's why coach didn't play him in the 4th quarter with 2 minutes left and a state championship on the line. Or maybe the Cowboys need to give that hippie a call. I mean did you see how elusive he was?

And people wonder why cops, especially ones on their own will err on the lethal side.

Misplaced aggression? Are you trying to say this man was predictable under the influence of drugs even after seeing he isn't responding to the taser? Do you have any idea if he has a history of violence towards others? Do you know anything at all or do you just like to assume cops are on the wrong side? LSD seems like something that could be really unpredictable. Either way, I dont want other's drug issues to become MY problem in a public area. LSD is illegal, and the cops had every reason to get involved by him simply being there shirtless and shoeless. We live in civil society partner.

Did we watch the same video? I didn't see the shirtless man acting aggressive towards anyone other than the officers attempting to subdue him. Can you blame someone who's on drugs for acting stupid? What I saw was the first cop get punked by someone without a weapon, and two other officers get involved to make up for the first officer's incompetence, who, by the way, was at least a head taller and 40 lbs heavier than the perp, yet still had to use a taser, baton and a sweet judo kick after the druggie was tackled to the ground. I don't always assume cops use unnecessary force when confronting a suspect, but then again, enough cops have been accused of such things that I have to consider it more than coincidence. Sorry you're a count though.

He's on serious drugs man. You don't know what he may do. He's not listening or obeying and pain is nothing to him.

At first I thought like many that it was poor police work, but upon others' inputs I better understand the situation. You also don't know what he may have on him.. I recognize its not likely he is harm or danger but it's better to be safe. This isn't something to be upset over.

If that's true, then why were all those witnesses not told to evacuate the premises till the situation was resolved? I'm not upset by this, but if you're going call me out for being ignorant you better have a better fricking argument than "he's on drugs and crazy...use deadly force".

maybe his family is being held for ransom by a bunch of rough knuckled thugs who told him to rob a McDonalds or he'll never see his family again, or maybe he just likes doing drugs recreationally. Either way he's on drugs. That's the point. Drunk you doesn't handle situations the same as sober you does. Not making an excuse, but most people do hard drugs to escape "themselves" so it's hard to believe a sober person would make the same decision as someone who's obviously as incoherent as this man was.
