That happened to me once. My truck had front end damage and the latch wasn't latched good enough I guess. I turned my head for a second to switch lanes, then heard a loud arse boom. When I looked straight ahead all I saw was black. Freaked me out for a second, but then I realized that my black hood came undone. 
I just pulled off to the side, put it back down and drove home at 30 mph with the hazards on.

Anybody have one of those old chevy impala/caprices from the eighties or nineties? You had to push down on the hood to close it. If you pushed too hard, the hood would buckle.
