ATLANTA — A man has died after police say he was pinned in a parking garage in midtown Atlanta.
Police received a call just before midnight to a parking garage off Peachtree Street near Colony Square about an auto accident.
When police arrived, they found a man inside of a pickup truck at the ticket machine. He died on the scene.
Police said the victim drove past the ticket machine. Police said he forgot to put his truck in park as he opened his door to reach back and pay for his ticket.
His arm became stuck. Police said the man died after he was pinned between the truck’s door and the ticket booth.
The victim’s name has not been released.

Ban assault ticket booths.

Yup. If you're body is pinned between an open door and the concrete barrier, your lungs will collapse. Plus he probably didn't have any movement to be able to reverse or put it in park because he his arms were pinned. I could see it happening.

Years ago, Wind blew my truck door closed on my hand while I was underneath working on it. Grabbed the door sill for extra leverage. Wham. I couldn’t get twisted around enough to reach because of the front tire and a jackstand, finally got the door handle with the toe of my boot. Nobody was around and it hurt like crazy.
Can’t imagine what this poor guy went thru.

That really is a terrible way to go.

Sounds similar to what happened to Anton Yelchin.
