Man charged with child endangerment and domestic abuse

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A man is arrested after deputies say he threatened a woman with a gun while four children were inside the home.

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the one hundred block of Richwood Road in Monroe on Monday.

Deputies found Latreze Broadway seated in his car in the driveway. They say they found a stolen handgun in his back pocket.

The victim was inside the home and told deputies she had returned from a friend's house when she and Broadway started arguing.

The victim says that's when Broadway slapped her in the face and threatened her with his gun.

Deputies say the victim told them he kept the handgun pointed at the floor and then replaced it in his pocket and went to sit in his car.

Deputies say Broadway admitted to the argument between him and the victim but did not confirm or deny slapping her.

Broadway is charged with illegal carrying of weapons, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, domestic abuse battery, child endangerment, and aggravated assault.
