A wanted man allegedly shot a bounty hunter during a wild incident at a New Orleans coffee shop Thursday that his defense attorney says was sparked by the lure of sex from a fake social media account.

In a warrant, New Orleans police said that London tried to back up when he noticed bond agents. He then rolled down his driver’s side window and started shooting at a bounty hunter who approached him, according to police.

Magistrate Judge Harry Cantrell set London’s bail at $200,000 after hearing from Assistant District Attorney Michael Henn — but London's defense attorney gave a wildly different account of the shooting.

Used to work in New Orleans for a bail bond company (not bounty hunting). This doesn't surprise me one bit. What surprises me is the guy decided to shoot once he knew he was fricked.
Got out of the industry, these guys do everything they can to see to it that more people go to jail. Lobbying through various associations, you name it. The more people that get locked up the more money they make.

Settle alleged that London never had a gun and the bondsman was hit in the crossfire from other agents. Settle said agents in three vehicles converged on his client, who had no idea what was happening. He claims that multiple witnesses support his client’s version of events. “The forensic evidence is not going to show that my client was shooting at them. It’s just not going to show it. He never had a gun,” Settle said

READ THE ARTICLE. Guys lawyer says he didn't even have a gun and the bounty hunter got shot by his buddy in a cross fire. Normally I would scoff at such an assertion but having seen "bounty hunters" up close, I will wait on the police investigation. Should be determined by ballistics pretty quickly.

Who edits this crap?

Seems pretty unlikely to me that bail agents would open fire as soon as they saw their fugitive unless provoked. Most of these guys never have to fire a shot, or if they do it is rare
