If this is the type judgement he uses when he isn't threatened I'd hate to see his judgement and how a situation would escalate when he is.

you can't hold the firearm. Just carry it in holster or sling. No problem if that crownd was there. They have the right to do so now. Where are they?

So lets say no one can. You think that will stop firearms from going into a particular place? I guess it will prevent the good guys.

Yeah. When I went to France I was surprised at all the cops there (I assume they're cops) who walk around with machine guns. It's a strange feeling even though they were cops, so regular folk armed like this would be really weird.

I think if it were, say, Muslim citizens doing this there'd be a lot less support from the NRA types.

Pussy liberals are going to jump all over this. I just have one question. When was the last mass shooting in Georgia? I'll hang up and listen.

Oh yeah, because someone who brings an AR-15 to the world's busiest airport should make me feel safe. Not as if he's psychopath who is about to mow everyone down. You're an idiot.

If that's the case, why does it have to be an airport? There are plenty of public spaces with large amounts of people with little-to-no security stopping such a person.

Because there is no better place to cause mass chaos than an airport, particularly the busiest airport in the world. If this guy was crazy and decided to kill 70+ people who were checking their bags, Atlanta airport would be closed for several days and thus costing the nation hundreds of millions of dollars with those cancelled flights. Taking out a city block in Buckhead just wouldn't have the same effect. The Atlanta airport is probably the most desirable terrorist attack location in the South, and the closest next desirable location is in Washington.

without researching each instance you posted...what qualifies as a "mass shooting"?

4 or more individuals hurt or killed....

and for the record last year in the US we averaged just under one a day.

Gotta love the AJC a newspaper dropping race into this. What would happen if a black man did this? Gtfo with that crap.

He would have been shot dead, and you know it. frick Im white and this is the truth of it....That dude is old and white and was 'allowed' to walk thru that airport because he was white.

What if a Muslim wants to open carry and politely acknowledges an old lady with allah snackbar....immediately dead, again you know it, we all know it.

Dont act like racial bias/profiling would not be an issue here.

Like I said earlier, terrorist right now are planning an attack taking advantage of these stupid arse gun laws we have in the country because the NRA loves to sell guns for its bosses, the gun manufacturers. Doesnt have a fricking thing to do with the right to bear arms.

I would trust him vs. anyone else if your hypothetical happened.

He's an a-hole that is tip toeing his rights. But, I bet he's a responsible and knowledgeable gun owner.

Obviously, a cop should have shot him. Afterall, the cop could feel threatened.

If everybody carried a 44 holstered at all times in public; the world would be a better place.

He'd be blasted away before he took 10 steps. Same with a brown/Muslim looking man. Gun rights in this country for the most part only really apply to the white man, especially in a setting like an airport where everyone is already on the edge. You can deny it, but it is the truth.

You dont know him or the next joe schmoe that pulls this stunt from the next mass shooter that rolls up into a mall

you would trust him...what a joke of a statement.

you basically just confirmed the bias and the fatal mistake it is when you are confronted with a situation where someone uses these laws to kill a crap load of people here in the future.

I absolutely love open and concealed carry laws and think it ultimately makes us safer, but doing this at an airport or anywhere publicly is really just attention seeking, with an AR or any visible weapon.

Then you're a very stupid person. You mean to tell me when an elderly white guy walks into an airport armed with an AR-15, your first thought is "Well I was a bit nervous here, but thank god that man has walked in with an AR-15. I feel safe now!"

I on the other hand, especially not knowing Georgia's open carry laws, would be thinking "Holy shite, this guy has lost his fricking mind and means to kill us all."

But, I bet he's a responsible and knowledgeable gun owner.

He most certainly isn't. A responsible gun owner would never take an AR-15 into an airport. Seriously, what if a guard had thought he meant to shoot up the place, then he would have been shot dead in his tracks. And I wouldn't blame the guard for it; he felt as if he was doing his job and saving dozens from getting killed.

If this idiot was black or any shade of brown though, he would have for sure been shot on sight. This is just ridiculous hypocrisy. Not being able to carry a loaded fire arm on any airport property is something every sane person should be completely fine with.

Yep. Say what you will about the black man, but they don't shoot up airports or schools. I'd rather see a black guy than a white guy with an AR-15 at an airport, since when black guys shoot at someone, they are going after a specific individual or group. Someone did something to them or they want something from someone, but they actually go into these things with some sort of rational motive.

When a white guy cracks though, they want to kill everyone and themselves. You don't see Columbine or Sandy Hill massacres from the black population. A white guy or a Arab guy shows up to an airport with a gun that can take out dozens, my only logical conclusion is that they are there to kill themselves and as many people as they can take with them.

And I'd like to congratulate Eugene Dogwood as TD's new Dumbest Poster. In 6 years of being here, I think that may be the single dumbest post I've ever read. Congratulations and please don't breed.
