WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A New Orleans man was arrested in West Monroe and charged with impersonating an officer.
According to records, West Monroe police found Leslie Knighton asleep in a vehicle on Bridge Street.
When officers went to the car, they saw Knighton had a security officer badge around his neck, a marshal shirt on the front seat, and what appeared to be police lights on the windshield.
Records go on to say that Knighton told police he works for the U.S. Marshal's office and was conducting surveillance, but when officers asked for more information and identification, Knighton eventually admitted that he is not a marshal and only aspires to be one.
Police say they also found a police duty belt, numerous cell phones, a police style radio, a police light on the rear window, handcuffs hanging from the rear view mirror, a stun gun, and numerous unscratched lottery tickets in a plastic bag.

It's still legal to impersonate a recruiter for the Brazilian Women's Water Skiing Team in West Monroe, correct?
