Some things are, others are good shite.

I don't even know if this is true. The testimony I heard from the co-worker is that they sort of laughed about it and went "ew".

Knowing that it wasn't just blood, but actually Avery's sweat that was found on the set of keys, that's not weak.

I believe Avery's was said to be exactly 70, and Brendan's was in the range of 69-73.
Yeah, there is no way Avery's is even in the same neighborhood as Brendan's. I mean, perhaps on some specific tasks like math or something. But very clearly, Avery is vastly more intelligent than Brendan. Imagine Brendan trying to write his own brief from prison.

I'm confused about the bullet found with the victim's DNA. As far as I know, it wasn't blood? How else would her DNA end up on the bullet?

Are you knighting for Steven Avery because he's some backwoods redneck? Does he remind you of your kin folk?

didn't read this entire thread but...
I think avery did it. BUT that the Police dept. also planted evidence to ensure a guilty verdict. That entire family is mentally ill.

That's what I think. Avery just had 3 more decades on Earth.

?
The cops had access to Avery himself, and to his property and all his belongings. They had plenty of opportunity to collect his DNA.
I'm curious to know how they determined the DNA was from his sweat--anyone know? Is it certain it was from sweat, or could it have been from some other non-blood (clear) source?

seriously?
Absence of evidence? You're the one who is ignoring the dead body in the guys front yard, her car with his blood and hers on his property, his phone calls to her before, him requesting her specifically, and him being the last person to see her alive.
Definitely sounds like he had nothing to do with it.
ETA:
AND WHAT EXONERATING EVIDENCE?!

seriously?
Absence of evidence? You're the one who is ignoring the dead body in the guys front yard,
quote:His blood vial in evidence was pierced with a hypodermic needle and Lenk had motive, means, and opportunity to plant his blood in the car. He also knew the blood vial was in evidence. Her body being in her car is consistent with her being killed off the Avery property by someone else before being moved to the burn site, which was likely not Avery's burn pit in his back yard (otherwise why were some of her burns found in a separate burn pit?)
her car with his blood and hers on his property,
IMO this evidence points to an exoneration of Avery rather than a conviction of Avery.
quote:
his phone calls to her before,
On the day that she was coming to take the photos--that isn't suspicious activity, that's normal activity that is easily explained by the fact that he was waiting on her to provide a service.
quote:
him requesting her specifically,
This makes sense since she's worked for his family already. If they like her work, why not ask for her again?
quote:
and him being the last person to see her alive.
As far as we know. We don't know for certain that he was the last to see her alive--that's only true if we assume he's the killer. This is a valid reason to investigate Avery, but it's not sufficient as evidence because there's no way to verify that he was the last to see her.

quote:I'm saying that it's possible, not that it definitely happened. It's not that difficult to collect someone's sweat. Do you seriously disagree? If you have someone in your custody 24/7 it should be easy.
Collecting Avery's sweat and using it to plant evidence.
The point is that Lenk had the motive, means, and opportunity to collect Avery's DNA, plant it on the key, and plant the key in Avery's trailer. The key wasn't found after several searches, and he was present when it was found. He also had knowledge and access to Avery's blood vial, which was suspiciously pierced with a hypodermic needle. He didn't sign in at the crime scene the day the RAV4 was found, but he did sign out. He said in a statement that he arrived after sunset, but lied in court and said he was there four hours earlier.
With all of these facts, the key evidence can and SHOULD be doubted. It is certainly NOT incontrovertible evidence that Avery committed the crime.

Not because he's smart. He's just lucky. Like I said, a smart person wouldn't leave her car and body on their own property.
And you realize they didn't use Brendan's testimony in his trial right?
Brendan's statement was a primary reason this whole ordeal blew up in the media, which solidified the jury's decision. I say once again, if the kid wasn't coerced and evidence wasn't planted, your "dumbass" would have walked.
