Has that happened in the LA area much over the past several years?
Haven't they had like one wet year out of the last 5 or 6 years? They were in a very long drought up until 2023, then 2024 was also bone dry for almost the whole year as well.

The libtard above says the past 2 years were wetter than normal.
The fie department needs to perform the controlled burns in these areas.
You have firefighters standing by.

If this is to be trusted, it seems that 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 were significantly wetter than the norm, which seems like the time to do some controlled burns if you're gonna do them. I'm certainly no expert on controlled burns, so there could certainly be circumstances that make them a bad idea.

I explicitly said nothing could've been done to prevent the sparking of the fires. Be it a down power line, inadvertent human spark, etc. fires aren't unique to los Angeles, California or liberal areas. Idaho has wildfires; something sparks those fires, despite Idaho being dark red.
Nobody will know what the spread of the fires would've looked like under conservative leadership. To sit here and blame Bass or a lesbo fire chief is just tribalism.

Bro, you are definitely a liberal. There is no way you arent trying to disrupt the conversation due to being caught being a retard.
JHC. Talk about pot calling the kettle black. He was one of the original posters in here providing updates on the actual fires. It wasn't until you people, as always, ruined another current event thread by vomiting the politics all over it, when there was a thread on the poli board to discuss exactly the shite you're talking about now. Before you all showed up, we had a thread full of updates, fire videos, and procedure info, but most of those people disappeared once you all showed up. He didn't disrupt any conversation. You did.

And now he's saying nonsense like there's nothing anyone in power could have done to not have the shite show that it is. That's dumb.

Then both of y'all take that shite to the poli board where it belongs and leave this thread to the updates.

Eat shite
What updates are you hoping to read in this thread almost a week later? And why are discussions of possible causes of and response to the fires not appropriate for this thread?

I'd say prove it, but I won't because
1) You won't.
2) Just more bs to ruin the thread, I'll leave that for yall to continue.

To a small degree? Did you watch the clip posted a few pages back? how would you propose controlled burns take place in residential neighborhoods such as that? They couldn't get the aerial firefighters up until the winds subsided. LA didn't run out of water, the fires taxed the system and they had trouble with pressure because the power that supplies the pumps to get water in the hillside areas was off.
I voted for Trump, I voted for Caruso. I hate the Dems and all their woke bullshite. Progressives have ravaged this city with their criminal and homeless friendly policies.
Is it a bad look that bass was in Ghana, sure. Is it a bad look one of our numerous reservoirs was out of use, sure. DEI is stupid, but having a straight white male as fire chief wouldn't change the conditions. We had cat 2 hurricane winds in a suburban area that hasn't seen rain in almost a year. This transcends politics.
This is impossible to read.
There was zero preparation done.
The leadership did not do anything on the checklist of what to do before the season started.
These are not argumentative statements, they are facts. If the leadership in California didn't know what they were doing, which is most likely the case looking at the Mayor and Fire Chief, they shouldve asked. If they didnt know to ask that question, well you can think for yourself from here, I hope.
Why was the Mayor in Ghana? Oh its because she's got pigment so its ok to do whatever you want whenever you want with no repercussions.
The double standard wore off back in 2008-2009.
These events should further highlight the racist agenda of the DEI.
All these feel good stories of all this trash getting elected makes me sick.

It's a good sign for the citizens of LA that we've gotten to the shite talking and virtue signaling portion of this thread.

We had a fire a few years ago that was triggered by a gender reveal. Prior to that, a fire was triggered by a car accident.
Downed power lines, errantly flicked cigarette, idiot starting a campfire are outside the control of our elected officials.
