I wonder if this is gonna suck some of the energy out of the air for round 2
That's the hope. It doesn't always happen that way, though.
It is also possible that we see the southern mode underperform, not doing much at all to dampen things for the afternoon round.

Day 2 should update to Day 1 around 1am.
Any forecast trends making this more of a MS/Al event?

Ongoing now is this round. Tomorrow afternoon begins the next round.
However, the NWS in Birmingham pushed back a couple of hours the start times in Alabama for this round

Never heard of a "destructive severe thunderstorm warning" before

I could be off but I somewhat remember seeing them for the first time last year. Or something similar to that that was different than just a regular severe thunderstorm warning

Yes but it looked worse on the frame Ryan Hall showed

I hate overnight shite. Want to stay up and watch the weather but need to sleep

I've finally caught up, it's been a super busy week for me all week and I'm sure I missed some things but this isn't what I expected the radar to look like on the southern end of things nearing 10 pm.....certainly a lot more can happen and things are rough in some places but I figured we'd be in the middle of the shite right now

What radar app are y'all using?
Posted on 3/14/25 at 9:55 pm to im4LSU
St Louis cell may be the biggest hook echo I’ve ever seen
