It should be the point. I have no idea how anyone stands living in the Atlanta area. The commutes around the city are life draining.

Atlanta does have the most natural tree cover of any major city in the country. Thus why it's called the City In The Forest.

I would of thought that we had more parks.

Well, nearly 7 million live here and it's still growing so the joke is on you.

Atlanta is a major city. Major cities have traffic. Dallas, Houston, LA, D.C., Philly, all of them. It's just a fact of life.

Been here for over 30 years, and the commutes are only "life draining" if you allow it. Not everyone has to commute from Canton to Lawrenceville or McDonough to Alpharetta.

The majority of the tree cover is over private yards.

I was meaning to tell SI that in my reply to him. He is under the impression that we all work and drive into the city every day or drive 35-40 miles from one suburb to another. That's patently untrue.

I drive 14 miles to work. I can't speak for anyone else.

McDonough to Alpharetta.

I know you were using it as an example, but you couldn't pay me enough money to make that commute.

The homeless people that live there are going to love all that new green space.

True. But that's one of the things that makes Atlanta great.

Which is great, but there definitely is room for improvement with regards to public parks.

I walk about 30 feet to my basement desk.

That's not even the worst, I knew a guy that commuted daily from Chattanooga to Downtown Atlanta.

About to get it's own major road project downtown as well starting in 2024.

Just greenlighted after several legal challenges related to TxDOT having to acquire property in historically minority neighborhoods.

Basically rerouting I-45 around downtown and getting rid of the Pierce Elevator roadway through the west side of downtown, as well as adding caps along the route.

Looks like it is going to be a mess for a while getting through the heart of Houston.

“How is it a mistake?” said Wally Sparks

I was referring to the mistake YOU pointed out that GDOT made by storing HDPE conduit under I85, and the inference is that if they were dumb enough to do that then who knows what troubles they can cause with essentially an extended tunnel in downtown Atlanta,…..

Waste of money. I used to love hanging out in Atlanta, it was on it's way to becoming one of the most fun bar and restaurant hopping cities in the country. The last two mayors have watched as the progress stopped an it has descended into one large homeless encampment. Makes me mad ever time I drive through.

Point taken, though that tunnel would probably have the same amount of issues that other capped freeways do…very little.
