About midway between Cullman and Bham.

Tuscaloosa,
You might want to consider Amtrak. I was stuck in Jackson MS with an ice storm, planes weren't moving so no reservations. Then somebody in the motel whispered "Amtrak" and the next day the crowd cheered as the train arrived two hours late to take us to NOLA.

Getting a little sleet/snow sticking near Columbia

We have a ball of pink parked on top of us on the radar. Starting to beat the snow down, I just hope it doesn’t refreeze on tree limbs or the road.

One of the few things that sucks about working from home is that while everyone else is off work today, this is as close as I’ll get to being able to enjoy the snow…
I did take the garbage out earlier and checked the depth of snow on top of the garbage can…
Looks like we got just over 3”.

It's all good. It's an online message board, The main reason we come here is for the drama! Hartsfield-Jackson/ATL has a propensity to find themselves overcome by a case of the vapors with a regularity.
Anyway, hope you make it home safely and find time to relax in the warmth of your own home before nightfall.
Safe travels, brother!

Indeed it is. From my house, it takes almost the same amount of time to drive to downtown Cullman as it does downtown Bham.

Friend is about 30 minutes north of there. As of about an hour ago, they had about 6”

heck yeah man. we drive 31 to Cullman from time to time, and then cut over to Arab - they have a kick arse antique shop we go to - or we do 231 up to Huntsville.
some some really nice areas up there - Blountsville is a really cool little town.

We call it “the Lord’s country”.

NE Atlanta suburbs update. Snow transitioned to sleet about 9:45 or so. Took the 3 year old out to play for a little bit. Maybe a total accumulation of an inch and a half.

North shore of Lake ouachita in arkansas. I haven't got out yet to measure but the snow is as deep as a 5 gallon bucket is tall. Have a bucket sitting in the yard and watched it disappear over night.
I was up late dealing with an 8 year old panicked over a power outage. Just looking at it out the window this morning it looks like 13 to 14 inches.

awesome man - i bet they had a ball playing in it. when we had our dog, she hated the rain - but you let it snow some and we could barely contain her inside - she loved playing in the snow.

It's a winter wonderland. We definitely got more snow. Cool

I’m already over it due to the fact I know I probably can’t get out of the neighborhood at least until Monday.

I live in Montgomery county which is rural as hell but somehow manages to brine and plow all the highways.
We are going to the nearest stores 16 miles away this afternoon. We live on a ridge so there is zero chance I'll make it up the hill when we get back. In years past I just park at the bottom and walk up.
I'd be over it if we couldn't get out but for us it's fun to go out and drive around in it. Sort of a family tradition. Such little traffic here it's not really risky it's just fun lol
