Choices have consequences.
Your words don't justify the crime.

Unfortunately the road to justice is going to be a long one that will involve a complete destruction of her character. It is sad because she has been gone for almost 2 years now. We all did dumb things in college. For the family to get justice it will take all of her dumb things to come to light.
At least one of the defendants was charged with anal rape. A motion was filed arguing that there may be evidence she had anal sex (with another person) within 24 hours of the alleged rape, and that whatever trauma/inuries that led to the anal rape charge could have been caused by a person who is not that defendant. I'm not saying the alleged sex 24 hours prior to the incident with the defendants did in fact happen. But fleshing out that evidence goes beyond just a "character attack".
I think many want to assume this case was just a sad incidence of 4 men completely taking advantage of a helpless 18 year old girl. That may ultimately prove to be the case once all evidence is presented. But given some of the facts made public I think it is reasonable to believe the case is more complicated and nuanced as some might want to think.
"Justice" finding a person who committed a crime guilty and forcing them to serve a reasonable punishment for it. But "justice" can also be not taking away a person's freedom for an alleged crime they didn't commit.

So are you defending the choice she made to get hammered and go along with a bunch of strangers?

Probably won’t unless someone comes forward as a witness.

I guess I am.. good decisions.. maybe not ..their decision not mine.. fatal decision.. should not be.
people get drunk.. people get in cars with people they met at bars.. people hook up..
Been happening forever.. I know lots of guys and girls that go to bars to meet people and hook up.. I tried picking up girls at bars when I was in college..
I never once raped and left them on the side of the road in freezing weather in a state..
Would have driven her home and made sure she got in the door..
You must be in line to be the next Pope with your pure life.

This isn't true. There's a lot of known facts about this case.

Unfortunately these court cases aren’t gonna paint a pretty picture of her lifestyle choices
Ostensibly, her lifestyle choices are NOT on trial. What she did or did not do in earlier times was not conceding permission to others to rape her in the future. Similarly, her lifestyle choices that night are NOT permission for others to commit crimes against her.
Someone help me: is the line of defense now that they did not have sex with her because of the lack of DNA evidence? is that what they're arguing?

I never once raped
Did you ever have sex with a girl that had recently consume any alcohol? If yes, then you raped her. In the eyes of the law, you raped her.
It doesn't matter if you were drunk. It doesn't matter if she initiated things. It doesn't matter if you were alone in your bedroom and she walked in, undressed and jumped on top of you....you raped her.
I am not saying it is right. That is just the way it is.

Everybofy on this board partied and went to college
If everyone jumped off a bridge, would that make it ok? She was an adult, made poor choices and paid the consequences. What if all of them involved were drunk? Does the one that is the most drunk get the pass?

I haven’t seen all of the evidence.
But you have to admit, it’s odd that she was supposedly raped (or had consensual sex with) multiple guys, and there’s no dna from them.
I can’t come up with a reason. Faulty evidence collection? Seems like something should be present.
It’s the job of defense attorney to protect his client. If there’s no dna, how can the prosecution prove their case?

If you follow the case, this is hard to argue with. Now with the judge assigned to this case it seems almost inevitable.
wow. Just read up on her. Black lady, NAACP member and her own son was charged with forceable/aggravated rape of minors 12-17 back in 1997.
How has she not been asked to recuse herself?
They are gonna walk. For certain.

Imagine If she we’re black, and the perps were white? How would the OT view it?

I know me and would never want to be put in the Dad's situation. There would be no need for a court date for any of the guys in that car.

Everyone speaking of DNA.... are they really intending to say semen? Just being in a car with them would transfer DNA, fibers, hair, etc. I can explain rape with no semen in a couple of ways.
However, regardless of "DNA" or lack thereof, what about the videos that the boys took on their phones? Why aren't videos + her BAC a slam dunk?

It will be hard to say they didn't have sex because the attorney had a press conference on the courtroom steps early on saying 2 of them did have sex with her, but it was consensual. I bet he regrets admitting that now.
