Bone color is judged much like judging livestock. You can judge a steer, lamb, hog, etc to guess and come.pretty fckking close to the actual percent of intramuscular fat (marbling). This determines market value. State Livestock and JAQHA National Championship here, trust me.

So, over the years, I have developed a system with standards to determine bone health based on certain key indicators.

White of the eye, condition of skin and health of hair gets you a pretty decent indicator of color of bone (health).
