Dan Gurney is the only guy I ever heard of that could ice (black ice, at that).
With hydroplaning, you can kinda wait until the car comes back.
With ice, you gotta work the wheel quicker, and "aim" the car. Still a significant amount of luck is involved.
Snow tires and go slow, or better, stay home.
