Being that Lent was over last night, is today technically a meatless day (abstinence in addition to the Good Friday fast) from the standpoint of Roman Catholic orthodoxy, or is it thought of that way simply because of the assumption that this is a Friday that falls between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday?
My understanding of today with regards to dietary proscriptions is that it is an obligatory day of fasting and abstinence, but I'm not sure if that is codified or not. Our family's observance today will be of a few calories here and there for subsistence and one formal, reasonable meatless meal.
I realize that in the grand scheme of things this really doesn't matter in the context of all the loss and sacrifice that is going on right now, but I'm not working for the first time in a while and was reflecting upon this, and it is interesting for me to hear how others (especially practicing Catholics) approach this.
Disclaimer: practicing Catholic (a long-time convert - did not grow up in an area of geographic Catholic predominance) married to a cradle Catholic from NOLa.

BigPapi- I grew up Cathoic and my maw maw said no meat today when I was a kid. I have no idea what the real rules are.
I actually forgot until I started the lunch thread so it really had nothing to do with my menu today.

I don’t know anything about cosmetics and to be honest I hate make up. I think it’s a waste of money. Women that wear makeup are naturally ugly so I don’t want to be part of that kinda scam.
I’d rather fool people into buying cheap costume jewelry. Nothing compare to a 300% markup on jewelry except furniture
