As a fellow Senior, Canes was awesome when they started but the more they grow, the more the food quality suffers. Got some like 6 months or year ago ant they were half the size they used to be, and dried out and overcooked.

I was at the big artichoke to eat back in the 70's. remembered it as being between Carmel and Monterey but it was north of both in Castorville.
Pebble Beach Golf Course parent company was a publicly traded stock and one of the better asset plays of all time. I think the Japanese got it in the 90's but the person who held it in-between got the rock company (one of the few industries that allow land to be depreciated) and thousands of acres of prime California real estate. I think the stock was trading around 9 bucks, very cheap for the assets but all they saw was a rock company.
