Leftover gumbo.

I’m officially done with Thanksgiving festivities. We did one side of the family Saturday and the other side Sunday.

A new place opened by my work.

We are always looking for new lunch spots, so we tried it out.

Ordered the red beans with fried pork chop.

Took a bite of the beans, and immediately my teeth crunch into something. The rice wasn't cooked.

Who I assume was the owner or manager comes over and asks if everything was ok. "No," I replied. "The rice isn't cooked."

He asks "Ok, so what do you want?"

What do you mean what do I want? I want a new plate of beans.

He brings me out a small to-go container of just red beans with no rice.

I take a bite of the pork chop, and it was like they dipped it in Lawry's Seasoning salt, deep fried it without breading, then dipped it again into Lawry's for that extra saltiness.

I start eating the red beans from the tiny to-go container, and I'm constantly pulling chunks of pork bones out of my mouth.

Plus, the waitress kept forgetting that she already took our order. Three times she asked if we needed to order.
