Have you tried a diluted lime / sulfur solution?

Used to mix between 5% and 10% base with distilled water and did wonders for keeping a coat clean. MAKE SURE TO DILLUTE, as old mountain boy I worked with fogot and it burned the skin clean of a colt that was headed to the Summer Sale at Saratoga. Wound up having to sell at a 2yo in training sale when we got the skin back to looking like something.

Honestly, I’ve had the best luck with cannon and face crud by doing equal parts zinc oxide, cortisone, and triple antibiotic.

Move to central KY, some of the best farriers I ever knew lived within 50 miles of downtown Lexington.

Next best place is riding the track circuit as so many issues with damage at tracks will not be seen most any other place.

I know a woman, a giant showoff, who rides with a double bridle on horses that do not need them. She'd use a quintuple bridal if she could find one. Her ratcatchers were always very garish.

I wish I could find the cartoon someone drew of her with her oversized bun sitting on a horse with a six rein bridle. If I find it, I'll scan it and post it.

Other than the light brown worms, that is a really great looking salad.

You have to for the saddlebred classes.

Ken goes in a smooth copper full cheek. But I love a Pelham. I just can’t stand how hunter riders hold their curb as their primary. Not correct.

Sounds expensive

Are you doing just fungus or other skin issues with that mix?

(Is zinc oxide the stuff life guards put on their nose?

Army PX used to have goose grease (not sure if that was the name or really made from goose) we used in lieu of the stuff lifeguards put on their nose.

Be careful with zinc oxide, as some of it has been found to have lead in it.

Yes. It’s a good sunblock. Zinc oxide is my windex.

I’m mostly only dealing with the cannon and face crud.
