You get exactly one try and I ask for a supervisor or someone experienced. I am not a pin cushion and the bruising is very real.

Same. And I don’t let students practice on me at all. Which is saying a lot because I was an instructor for the UoM school of nursing

I think I had a trainee once when I gave blood. 10 tries on one arm then she called someone over to try on the second. Took 3. I had some good bruising.
This was way back in my skinny high school days too. Before I became 600lbs.
