My dog is dying Festus. Our 10 year old lab mix. It sucks.

My husband has been working remotely from home all week cause he doesn’t want to leave the dog at home alone. He’s scared Payson’s condition is gonna get worse any day and that will be the sign we have to bring him in.

If you both love him, you'll know when it's time.

Man, it's hard. I'm really sorry. I've still never gotten another dog since my last, for the simple reason, I don't ever want to feel that again. It's too sad and exhausting.

But enjoy the pup for as long as you can. Make him happy. And you never know. I swore BEGF dog was dying a few days ago. Literally would not get up. Would not eat his favorite treat. Just laid there motionless for a day.

Next day, he was up and acting normal.

Payson may still have a lot of life left. Good luck.

He is doing fine right now. Acting mostly his usual self (except for diarrhea). But they can’t really tell us how much longer he has. Vet told us he can go bad quickly. The other vet said maybe a month or so.

Each day he is acting his usually happy dog self is a gift at this point.

My husband is a wreck though. Thankfully his boss went through something similar with her pet so she has no issue with him working from home right now.

Having an understanding boss is a gift! Some people don't understand pets are family. I loved seeing your camping pics with the dogs. Looked like so much fun.
