I live in New Iberia. I don't have anyone to drive me to Shreveport for surgery. I don't see how they can physically restrain me from leaving the day after surgery.

I'm poor with Medicaid.
Shreveport is the only neurosurgery spot in LA for that.

I realize that they could prevent me from leaving. It's hard for me to believe they would physically restrain me. That's why I'm asking you guys

I think after a day they will tell you to leave. If you're driving yourself, staying overnight will be enough for them to let you drive.

Or can someone show up once you are done in recovery and act like they will drive you?

It's 310 miles from Houma to New Iberia to the Ratchet City or 620 miles round trip.

That's exactly what I want to do. Some people are telling me the hospital won't let me leave. Thats' why I'm soliciting advice here.
