posters shouldn't make fun of each others looks & handicaps...i have a large wart on the end of my nose. it would hurt me a lot if yawl made of fun me of that.

Disagree. If someone brings it here it’s fair game. I’ve never made any qualms about my...handicap? Disability? It doesn’t even bother me, I have fun with it now.

I feel like you were not always a pirate.
I must have missed something.
I feel like enough time has passed that I can say that now.

You can borrow OweO’s handicap tag when you go to Wal Mart

your mild handicap has never stopped you as a poster. you were always good for having very thorough posts, always crossing your t's and dotting your...lower case j's.

I used to have a prosthetic painted lens that covered the eye. Making it look more like a normal eye and masking the damage. Lost insurance (and even with insurance they were extremely expensive) and they would dry up, fall out, irritate it etc.
So I switched to patches due to cost and ease and comfort, just embraced it. At some point you just accept your lot and make what you will with it.

Inappropriate question. What fills the void?
Posted on 4/24/19 at 3:30 pm to link
I don’t really think about it as a handicap. Just a painful lesson from a moment of stupidity that altered the trajectory of my life. I was signed up for the marines when it happened. Always felt I got cheated on that experience.
That I was supposed to go to some foreign land and make a difference, experience things. Die in the cold like before.
But instead a moment and a millimeter and here I am in a completely different place this go round.

What does this mean?

So if you look at your eye
You’ve got your cornea, your iris, lens, chambers full of jelly.
Well the impact destroyed all that, blew it wide open, smashed it like a grape.
But with amazing surgeons and modern medicine they were able to save what remained of the eyeball. They scooped all the jelly out and used lasers to repair the torn viscera.
Then they filled the void with first an oil, then a saline solution. So it’s a bit like a snow globe. Where you have jelly, any real impact to mine sends blood swirling around
Except it takes weeks to settle.

Just these stupid, recurring dreams i’ve Had for as long as I can remember. Of dying on a battlefield in ww1 as the snow falls all around, blown open by artillery, guts festooned like Garland on the barbed wire.
And then i did some “reading” with a former gf and the crystal ball lady told me i’d died in past lives as a warrior. It’s all stupid I know but we can’t help what we dream.

Paige...
I wanted to tell you don’t bother getting the Makeup Forever HD foundation. It sucks.
Not worth the $$$ as you need a primer and finishing spray.
