Tandoori chicken, curry chicken, chicken tikka masala, masala red beans, lentils, naan, and rice pudding for dessert.

Considering Louisiana food is well spiced, I'm always surprised it isn't more common. Though every place I ever tried in Nola area was pretty bland, IMO. But there's a ton of good spots in Denver. But considering how many crazy gravy and rice dishes I've eaten at Black Pot festival, Louisiana and Indian are pretty similar in style.

I'd put it in my top 3 favorite types of food.

Walking into an apartment that reeks of curry makes me gag. Literally. I've had to flip too many apartments like that and curry is about the hardest smell to get out.

I think it is a scent association thing.

I've been there when looking at houses. The aftermath smells terrible. But when it's cooking, it's amazing.

But briyani is very similar to jambalaya. Tandoori chicken is like a well seasoned grilled chicken, and tikka masala is a saucy, delicious gravy dish.

I was always a picky eater growing up. Having Indian best friends with aunts setting up residency help me get over that. It sometimes looks very scary. But smells so good, you know it won't taste bad.

Indian food is awesome, even though I can't pronounce the names of the dishes.

That okra dish at Masala is fantastic.
