I've dropped and broken too many and spilled enough wine that my wife won't let me drink out of the good glasses anymore.
You sound like me
We have two kinds of wine glasses in our cabinet...really nice ones and some cheap ones. I used the nice ones once and broke one when I was washing dishes. Now I can only use the cheapo ones.

I'm sure the dude you're proposing too in a few days appreciates that..

That would get me 7-8 bottles; maybe 9.
I usually average about 15-$20 per but I have a big weekend planned.

60.00? Dude, that is way too high for that wine. It is a very good wine, but should be retailing around 45.00.

The one time I spent the $70 on a bottle of wine was when we visited wineries in Northern California. It's this hand sealed, hand labeled, only 1000 bottles of this vintage made type of deal. It's a red blend. Remember us tasting it and thinking "yeah we are splurging on that one".
That was 2 years ago. Been saving it...should hurry up and drink it soon correct? Or will it keep longer.

I don't know why it said July of 1958 but I was born no where near that date. My parents were born that year though.

It won't be half, but it will be much cheaper. You can get a Swanson Alexis 2008 for around 73.00 at Prytania Liquor. He woulkd pay around 110.00 wherever he goes. And Prytania ain't close to Elio's on price.

Depends on the blend. Cabernets tend to hold if they are of higher quality. Wineries may hold them for 2-3 years prior to release, which is why some cheaper wines are already on their 2014-2015 vintage while some others are just now releasing 2011 or 2012.
You can hold most Napa cabs for 10-15 years but I would say 10 is a pretty good sweet spot. Most people don't wait that long.
Most important is how you have it stored. Make sure it is laying down if it has a real cork. It should NOT be in a regular refrigerator or stored standing up for prolonged periods. Temp needs to be fairly stable and don't leave it in the sun.
When you're ready to drink it, decant for an hour first and give me a call.
