Dirty water grosses me out. I have this sponge thingy that has soap in it and I use it to scrape food off under running water into the disposal. My hand never goes into dirty dish water.

BEGF doesn't understand this. I won't cook if the counters are dirty and the sink is full. I don't know if I'm OCD or what. Who wants to slice shite on a cutting board sitting on a counter with dried egg yolks?

Also drives me craze when my wife is cooking and she doesnt use the 760cfm exhaust hood that had installed a few years ago.

So I walk over there and turn it on then walk away.....it usually starts a fight but IDGAF...use the damn hood already

stfu lil' man.

Hey, I need some advice from the legit cooks here. What is the solution to the dirty dish rag that you wipe down the counters with? I hate to use a different rag every time I wipe down the counters. So I hang it on a little rack to reuse. But it gets stiff (lol, twss) and then stinks (lol, twss), and it grosses me out to wet it and use it, because the smell gets all over my hands.

There's gotta be a better way.

If I'm cooking, that towel is being used the entire time on my hands, food, etc. And then I 409 the countertops and wipe them down and the towel gets thrown into the washer.

If I'm not cooking, the towel stays on the rack for several days because it isn't being used for much.

Not a bad idea. Thanks Slag. My only issue with that might be sometimes, those wipes wouldn't hold up to some of the mess on the counter tops or stove. And there's so much counter, I would have to use probably 10.

But not a bad idea at all.

This or spray cleaner and paper towels.

It grosses me out when people use the used dish towel to clean the countertops.

Makes sense. I'm gonna try it.

What about when you're not cooking, and someone else messes up the counters and doesn't clean up, and you're cleaning up after them? Just keep a rag that's not super dirty on the rack at all times I guess?

Do you know the dirty smell I'm talking about?
