There is no substitute for experience – especially when the experience is about current business issues and challenges. A team of undergraduate and graduate accounting students from Louisiana State University took advantage of this very type of opportunity to capture first place in the Deloitte Foundation's 21st annual National Student Case Study Seminar.

The team from Brigham Young University placed second, earning its members a $1,000 scholarship, and the school's accounting department received a $5,000 award. Students from the following schools also competed: Florida A&M University, Miami University of Ohio, University of Missouri, and the University of Notre Dame. All student team members received a $500 scholarship, and their respective schools each received $2,500.
