I thought you aren't allowed to have a job while in Law School.

Not allowed to work your 1L year unless given special permission, which is rarely awarded.

Trust me, they're doing you a favor by making you not work.

Those cases are rare. It usually involves some sort of extreme financial hardship or burden.

Seriously, for your 1L year you will not have time for both.

Not duable 1L year, and not allowed.
Part time job is duable 2L year, but stressful.
Full time totally duable during 3LOL if you give zero f!&ks about the top 10%, trial ad, or law review.

_relatively recent LSU Law grad, here

If you want to work full time and go to law school, try a part time night program at Southern or Loyola.

It certainly can be done but especially the first semester it would be a horrible existence.

What I did, but Extremely stressful. There is no way to attend law school full time, work full time, or have a regular social life. That being said, getting out of law school with zero debt is really nice.

Maybe, but only if the job is absolutely stress free and 100% left at work when you leave. I don't think I could have done it and made good grades

No debt is the tits.
It sucks starting at nothing until you realize how many would kill to just be at zero.

How does someone with a family support themselves/family through a 3 year program without working?

Try a part time or night program. You just don’t have time to work 1L going to a full time school.

Abita, you seem to have a lot of knowledge about this topic. I’d like your opinion.

I’m currently going through a program with the VA where I may have an opportunity to have my JD tuition paid at LSU. Grades are good. LSAT is scheduled. Just one big problem, I would have to quit my job to do it. Married with 1 kid. Would have to relocate to the BR area.
