Don't worry, I already have a job right out of college... been working there for two years and am almost ready for full time once I graduate.. I'm just saying that in general LSU is so poorly run... can someone explain to me how a class that isn't offered gets but on the offered list? Just a bit silly to me

Go annoy the hell out of your advisor, the registar, and the department head. Half of getting through LSU is being enough of a pain in the arse to get things fixed.

This.
LSU (and most state schools and many other schools) is:
1) A money making machine
2) A research institution
3) A money making machine
4) A place for learning
I taught 7 courses at Auburn University as a grad student and on day one of my orientation, they told me I was to be a scholar first and a teacher third. They explicitly said that I should never feel overwhelmed by teaching and if I felt it was encroaching on my research, I should scale back what I was doing.
It's sad, but I do not believe the student as a learner wanting to earn a degree is the center of the university experience anymore.

I have the email saying that I was literally the only person in the class. It was kinda funny but at the same time kind of ridiculous. I already got my schedule situation figured out... Im just appalled about how LSU managed to screw this one up

I have no idea how the computer system works there now. When I was there, we had PAWS where we were able to see the classes we were registered for. Are you saying that as of the first day of class, it showed you as registered for this class? If so, then yes, that's clearly the university's frick up. When was the last time you checked your schedule prior to emailing your advisor?

I managed to graduate LSU in 4 years and fix my own scheduling issues without once having to see or contact an adviser.... it's not that damn hard. In my experience most people who did need to regularly see or contact an adviser were the students who went back home on weekends to do their laundry and "couldn't even" during finals week.

yes, on my personal schedule on PAWS it says that I am registered for this class. Under schedule request, it also said I was scheduled for this class. I checked my schedule literally 20 min ago and that class is still on there

You would be surprised my senior design class only held one class over 2 semesters. It was ridiculous the teacher would never email canceling, half the class showed up for the first couple times. LSU can be an absolute shite show.
