I have to say I'm surprised to read this.

I really just don't see LSU becoming a top tier academic institution, even if they tried. The state would have to prioritize law and order and education long before LSU would start seeing the results. I do like the idea of tying to become very large, so we can have a good overall big school experience, and the revenue generated can at least provide some top notch programs and classes. However, making the university safe needs to be the main priority. No respectable people are going to send their kid to an unsafe university.

That's why they need to bring back ACT requirements to enter. However, the LSU administration is more about quantity of students instead of quality of students.

They use it to bring in low performing TOPS recipients. They fleece that system using students they know will fail out in three semesters or less. What’s a little twerking and wildin’ if it pays well?

So, what are the requirements to get TOPS? I thought TOPS was about keeping the "best of the best" in the state.
