They are probably worried the bridges will ice over or standing water that won’t evaporate in time.

We aren't going to see ice south of Alexandria. More weather data available to us 24/7 than ever before and we are getting dumber.

The WBRZ weather dude, "Dr. Josh," made two very good observations on the 5 PM news.

He said if ice forms on the roads we will need warmer temperatures to melt it.

And he said if anyone has to be outside during the hours of the hard freeze that's coming we should be sure to wear warm clothes.

His Phd. is really paying off...

Dumb. All the bad stuff will stay well north of Baton Rouge and be completely gone by Monday

Might not be the worst winter storm in history but surely one of the most hyped.

If a student died in a car accident driving back to campus on Sunday, everyone here would be saying LSU should have been closed. Good call by the administration.

Depends on how dry the air is behind the front and how quickly the rain moves through. If all the moisture evaporates from hard surfaces (roads, streets, sidewalks) before the temps hit freezing, than the hazards aren’t as great. I think that’s the big question. If the roads dry before it freezes than this event is much easier to negotiate.
