Lowe's.

Better customer service.

Closer to my house.

Lowe's. Great customer service and I've never had an issue trying to find what I wanted there.

Depends. If I'm building stuff, remodeling or looking to fix something up it's Home Depot. If I need lights, vanities, or things to make the house look nice it's Lowe's.

I agree but Home Depot seems to be stepping it up. I've found a lot more there recently.

Home Depot FTW - Every time I go to Lowes I end up going to Home Depot afterwards bc every part that needs sorting is more often than not in the wrong place, and their staff just isn't very knowledgeable. I've had this experience in three different cities

HD is catered towards men and Lowes is geared towards women. I've been a manager for both.

I said this ok page 1. It really is true. Both are customers of mine.

This. Usually Depot to start the project and Lowes to finish off the details

In my experience, Depot is much more well-organized while Lowes has the better pricing and variety

Lowes because the stores are set up better. I can never find shite at HD.

Just the opposite in my town and HD also has superior customer service here. That was the impetus for the OP but response indicates it varies between the two due to location. I used to go to Lowe's almost exclusively because they were in my my town first but now it's the other way around.

My observation is that Home Depot generally has better pricing and way better selection of power tools.

Customer service for me has been fine at both, but I must say lowes was far more helpful in special ordering blinds.

I tend to agree that Home Depot is more suited for pros and fixing shite, whereas lowes is better for the finishing touches and possibly caters more to women.

Like Phil, Stines is closer and convenient. Great customer service as well. Lowes has better prices and is next closest. If it's a big purchase, I'll check all three and compare.

HD is far superior in St. Tammany but I hope one day a Menards opens here. They are great.

Found out the other day Lowe's has 2x's for cedar, but at least up here HD only has either Doug first or SYP. Also, the hardwood selection at HD is lacking compared to Lowes.

Home Depot I go to for building materials, hardware, lumber etc.

Lowes is go to for appliances, fixtures, etc.

They just seem to be setup best for each of those aspects.

Hard to say that. You have to be detailed about the location. HD in Denham Springs is great... lowes in covington great, Millerville Lowe's is not to great, the store is a cluster, although the people are nice at this Millerville location... to many items out of stock... HD in Denham is loaded with items.... better store imo at the time.

Lowes because 10% coupons are readily available. Plus when buying appliances they will price match and beat it by 10% then when you check out at the register hand the cashier a 10% off coupon for more savings.
