Working muscle to failure is what builds muscle. The protein is necessary but the amounts consumed are not. No way.

What is the protein content of breast milk? Never in life will you put on more size than the first year of life. This can be done only with breast milk.

Whatever calorie to protein ratio breast milk has, that's the max you will ever need.

Haha yeah it has nothing to do with other hormones huh? Please do us a favor and don't give advice on this kind of stuff as that was the dumbest thing I have ever read on here.

We are omnivores, period. Always have been, always will be.

We cook our food and that's largely how we grew big arse brains, with cooked protein. We get more nutrients more quickly over our primate cousins because we don't spend all of the same time and energy just eating raw, dense, fibrous vegetables. We cook it and consume it quickly and use the nutrients and calories to fuel our brains and bodies.

So hormones have an effect here but no effect on how your body designates how food is digested? Makes sense.

Shop at the grocery store perimeter, and you'll be fine. 10 grams of fat from an avacato vs a nutty bar are not the same.

Stay on the outer ring of the grocery store, aisles have nothing but shite.

Peanut butter
Honey
Coffee
Tea
Whole Oats
All seasonings
Tuna
Pickles
Vinegar
Nuts
Dried kale
Dried seaweed
Bonito flakes
Siracha
Hot sauce

Mainly why I leave the edges.

Unfortunately, I grab veggie noodles, bread flour, yeast, canned tomatoes, parmesan cheese, cheerios and canned beans while I'm walking between those things.

Jesus you have a reading comprehension problem. I didn't say I disagree with you, in fact I did agree but I also said in the grand scheme of things it's irrelevant and I'm right.

Look 90% of the population doesn't even know what a micronutrient is much less the insulin response to certain foods or how the liver stores fructose or the role catecholamines play or how to reset leptin levels. All of this shite is irrelevant for 95 to 98% of the people. And honestly the things we are discussing play very miniscule roles overall.

You understand it because of school and I understand it...well because I am a weirdo and find it all incredibly interesting but you have to realize that most people don't understand it nor have any desire to. I use all kinds of diet trickshould including low carb, intermittent fasting, carb cycling, carb back loading, psmf and others to meet my goals, but most people don't need this.

The easiest way for them to lose weight/fat is to count calories and practice if it fits your macros. Combine that with lifting weights and they are golden.

And yea i was an arse earlier, I was hungry and become like that at the end of my fast. Sorry.

But body by science still sucks

At best we are primates with intelligence enough to be herbivores.

I've never seen another carnivore grill. African lions do not have Big Green Eggs.

Teeth are wrong and jaws are wrong to kill and consume an animal on the spot. Not to mention we cannot process the amount of protein. It just goes to waste.

The entire digestive tract of the human body proves you wrong.

Humanity would not exist without a small intestine designed to process animal protien.

Is that a fact? Please explain, please do.

And your premise is correct but a fat gram is a fat gram as far as the body is concerned no matter the source.

I meant omnivores not herbivores. My bad.

We are not carnivores.

Look man, eat your meat. Chicken is delicious. Steak is delicious. That's why we consume it. It is a luxury not a necessity. There are vegan body builders. The amounts of protein needed versus what are consumed are out of whack. 35% of calories being from protein is the high end of the spectrum. You can't really use much more.

I'm pretty consistent in all these discussions. I am NOT vegan because meat is tasty. I just do not delude myself though in thinking that eating copious amounts of meat and dairy are in anyway healthy.

Meat SHOULD be the smallest portion on your plate if it is there at all.

I'm glad you feel this away but thousands of years of evolution say your wrong. We as humans are hunters and gathers.

We evolved as a species hunting, killing and then go urging ourselves on meat. We would then eat fruits and plants to hold us over to our next kill.

And sure there are vEgan bodybuilders but they also take in large amounts of protein powder along with steroids.

Bottom line is that muscle is made from protein. Science has shown us we need a minimum of .8g per pound of lean body mass to maintain muscle under normal untrained conditions. We need more if we are trained using weights and if you want to actually build muscle you need more still.

Everybody spouts off 1g per pound of lbm. Problem is all the people saying that look the same year after year. Yet I go over and read Jim wendler, Daunte trudal, Martin berkham and others and these guys are adding huge amounts of muscle to their trainees both natural and enhanced and they are preaching huge amounts of protein. So who the hell do you think we should listen to?

Look if you are good being 160lbs to 170lbs at 15% bf, 1g or less per pound of lbm is fine but if you are like me and many others on here and are looking for #gainz well then better start upping that protein.

Soy protein. Steroids? Of course.

Protein deficiency? It does not exist unless the person is being starved. If you are consuming food sufficient to live you are getting your protein requirements. Muscle does not waste unless you are deficient in all caloric intake.
