Found a spent bullet on the ground outside my office. Looks like a .32

Count yourself lucky that it wasn’t a higher caliber that could pass through anything. Sounds like an accidental discharge. I don’t think anyone is doing a serious crime armed with a pea shooter.

For civilian rounds, the headstamp usually denotes the cartridge type along with the manufacturer's marking directly on the end of the casing.

Give us good accurate information, not guesses.
