Unless you are willing to make lifestyle changes, the gastric bypass will only be a temporary solution. You will return to your bad habits once the fear of killing your newly cut stomach wears off and in a few years be pushing the same weight you had before. Maybe sign up for one of the apparently ubiquitous mental health professionals we have and find out why you are committing suicide by food. Then decide if You need surgery

Congrats Louisiana...you are officially the worst state in the nation.

LA putting in work with the culcha, crime, morbid obesity, now the most unhealthy state. Next year, LA will challenge to overtake having the highest homicide rate in the U.S.

Dude he was just joking. But even if he wasn't, why are you so against bariatric surgery?

I had no strong opinion either way, but more so viewed it as a positive until a relative of mine got one last year. She was huge before and got the surgery. Looked like she dropped about 80 pounds in a week (this is an exaggeration, as I do not know for sure how much she lost)
Anyway, she made absolutely no other lifestyle changes. Still ate crappy, still did not exercise, and still remained a slob. She’s packed almost all of it back on and it’s only been about a year. The surgery is nothing but a temporary fix if they’re not willing to change their lifestyle.

Just imagine how bad things would be if the shake machine wasn’t continually broke.

I always marvel at the guys on the F&D board. They always post the best looking food, but it’s always the unhealthiest stuff ever
I can’t imagine any of them are in good shape

Shared an office back in the 1990's with a co-worker that had his stomach reduced. I think they made an incision on his stomach, took out some capacity and sewed it back up.
He lost a good bit of weight initially.
Then he went from eating occasionally, to constantly.
He had a treasure trove of snack material in that single handled/double depth drawer.
Slim Jims, Little Debbie, microwave popcorn, cashews, peanuts, Snyder pretzels, Lance crackers. we are talking Sam's Club quantities.
High blood pressure didn't kill him. Nor diabetes. He still lives. He is still overweight at 70 yo.

Check out the "I drink all the time" thread for part of the reason for this
