Showing snow on the radar in Sterlington, but haven’t seen any snow. Nothing but sleet. Sounds like it’s raining outside

Once in a lifetime kind of snow band over you tonight. You know, for Austin.

At least 6”, and it’s still coming down.

7 degrees tonight, 25 for the high tomorrow, 4 for the low tomorrow night, and more snow/freezing rain Thursday.

This is bananas.

Power just went out here in NW Houston. Lightning and thunder and snow at the same time. Never seen or heard anything like it before. Pretty sure the power outage is a rolling one though and it was our turn.

Ha, yep.

I think we got 14” one night in Red River. That was awesome.

Ours went out at 2:10 - they said the blackouts would be for 35 minutes.

Getting next door emails for surrounding neighborhoods who went out and are coming back on. You back on yet?

No snow but just ice/sleet in south Texas. Just went outside and my entire driveway is a sheet of ice. This shite is crazy! I can’t sleep.

Not yet. If truly 35 min, then we should come back on at 2:45.

shite that’s scary at this temp. Hope you got the fire place going... I worry about my parents at their age this time of night they might sleep through it and wake up in a 30 degree house

That's pretty deep for your area. Had to get up and turn the dryer on for the utility room. Looks like we've gotten 4" so far outside Longview. Still drizzling down lightly but I think we'll get a lot of what has come past you by 8 AM or so. Might see 6". Damn pretty out there. Completely a blanket of white.

Yeah, I’m staying up until it comes back on. Thankfully, the fireplace is propane and we ha a 1,000 gallon tank that was filled last week.

Hope your parents are okay.

That’s why I’m staying up. I have the firewood on standby but don’t want to use it unless I have to. I was about to get more wood around New Years but I was like, no I should be good. Won’t make this mistake again!

Steady freezing rain in the BR. Trees and power lines building up a pretty good coating.
