I guess I’m just spoiled. For all of Washington Parish’s faults we have good roads sans Bogalusa. And even in Bogalusa it’s not that bad.

Louisiana has some of the most poorly-funded roads in the entire country. I drove there last weekend to visit family in Lafayette and I was astounded at how fricking awful the roads were. The roads looked like they were all fricked up by a magnitude 10 earthquake.

That whole area coming into laffy is fricked up.

My brother lives in Broussard, roads aren’t fricked up over by his house.

60000 of state roads
Too many for the state, need to transfer many of them to a city or parish and maybe shut a few of them down.

Funny enough the leading candidate to transfer those over would be Lafayette City-Parish, see Johnston and Ambassador. The LOTD state controlled roadway map is sparse in the rural parishes but has a pretty heavy concentration in the Acadiana area.

35K. Work for Acadian ambulance and you’ll see south LA up to Alec. Every nook and cranny you didnt want to see.

Probably been hunting or fishing in every part of the state except the west side north of sulphur up to Shreveport.

Did you do it before the advent of GPS and Online Mapping?

Imagine how fun that was traversing the state in a hurry to pick up someone in a remote location having a heart attack using an outdated map and road signs that are sometimes non existant.

Negative bro. Not even close.

Think of all the subdivisions and neighborhoods. I''ve traveled all over the state in many small towns and backroads, and I probably haven't driven on 50 percent of the roads in my own area.
