Don't freak out over the number of deaths. LDH didn't report updated numbers yesterday.

They reported later in afternoon.

5/06 total was 2094 (52 new)
5/07 total 2135 (41 new)

They delayed yesterday's update for hours then released them around 3:30PM without an updated number of deaths.

I see what JB did. The a-hole held the death number back to report a bigger number today that was really 48 hours worth of death. Now he can say it's a sharp spike in deaths.

Hospitals now at their lowest since 3/31.

Vents at their lowest since 3/24.

It's time.

30,652 active cases
2,135 deaths
20,316 (recovered as of 5/02)

8,201 Active cases based on data provided. Enter assumptions

Recovered data is 5 days old. 14 days from 5/02 is 4/18. New cases:
4/18 - 462; 4/19 - 348; 4/20 - 595; 4/21 - 331; 4/22 - 404

6,061 Active cases
1,432 in Hospitals
4,629 Conservative estimate of cases not in hospitals

Obligatory: The 14 day guidelines are given by ldh and based on when the patient tests positive. The information that we have readily available is when the positive test result is known, not when the test was administered. In addition, the date of the onset of symptoms does not matter either.

Interesting note: If you add the new cases from 4/24 through 5/07 (14 days), you get 4,914 cases. 8,115 from 4/17 - 5/07 (21 days)

yep, with the intention of releasing a misleading 93 today...when in reality it would have been around 47 each day....
