We’re only testing symptomatic people now.

Eh, maybe not you specifically. But I've seen a lot in the past few weeks that would argue otherwise.

Must show your papers, I mean wear your mask. Hospitalizations do to appear to be leveling out.

Really this whole thing is causing us all to come unglued

I love how I was downvoted 30 times for simply pointing out today was a higher death count than we’ve seen in 5 weeks or so.

That's the thing. You came after my initial post, I didn't directly comment to yours. I just commented in response to OP.

This may help settle the hospital bed debate

If you looked at a graph like this in April all the cases would have been in New Orleans.

The other parts of the state are going through their peak right now. It was always an inevitability. It’s about to start decreasing.

I would be concerned if we were seeing a spike in New Orleans.

It's already 2 pm. If we get into it in another thread it'll be quitting time by the time we are done.

There are two group that will only ever post those things that support their preconceived positions and attack anything that tends to go the other way or even is neutral. I look at it as two cults. Fun to read their screeds and listen to them from time to time but not the kind of stuff an objective, rational person would want to give any weight to.

For the record I think using a rolling average on a day that "zero" was reported is problematic both ways. I agree that it is problematic, which is why I decided to throw it out. Maybe that was not the correct move, but it's something that could be discussed.

I haven’t thrown insults at you. I’m simply saying you cannot throw out a day and make the denominator 6, when it’s state policy to add the data to the next day and report it in a single data point.

Today's update includes a backlog of 1,583 cases from the last two months.

My dad took a test last Saturday, still hasn’t gotten the results back. By the time he gets it back and tests positive (he can’t smell or taste but feels fine other than that) he won’t even have it anymore.

Need to report cases on their actual day so we can have a true representation. This is basic statistics. How can any of this be used as a true reference to make decisions off of?
