Google "state" treasury unpaid money. Ex west virginia treasury unpaid money.
Search any name you want. Aunt just finished a claim in WV once I found her name. It was an unpaid life insurance policy from my aunt who passed three years ago that they never paid directly to the named beneficiary (my surviving aunt). Took 60 days but got the check. $10,000. Wife's coworker had $350 between a claim in Texas and Tennessee.

So my name comes up with my address and it shows "under $25" and "refund due". Does that mean I am owed an amount less than $25?

I do not know about LA specifically, but some states have different validation requirements by refund amount.

Very good info here. Found a Fidelity acct me and my sisters knew nothing about that my dad had. Pocketed us $13,000 last year.
IIRC, if not claimed after so many years they turn the funds over to the state. Someone may can verify or reject that.

The California Unclaimed Property site is pretty interesting when you search celebrities. George Clooney has a $3300 cashier's check waiting for him. I hope he can survive without it.

Think so. We had a harder time proving who were with Fidelity than we did with the state. Took months for Fidelity to approve.
We were adopted by him so had to go the courthouse and prove all that shite too.

I have $60.29 waiting for me in Georgia but the amount of documentation they want makes it unworthy of the effort to get it.
