I disagree

The perfect way to get introduced in to the OT IRL. Still funny to this day like 8 or so years later.
I think thats when you came out of your shell

My parents are still alive, but one is in prison and the other lives in a shite hotel. I haven’t seen one in about 20 years. The other in 2 years.

It helps if you have parents that are, at the least, semi-decent people.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my mom and Aunt oct 1,2011 23 hrs apart. An uncle 2 months later , 7 family members within 14 months and you hear that it'll get easier comment a lot. Not for us. Give it to God
God Bless

Cherish those memories. My father died yesterday. This man left a trail of misery from S Louisiana to Pennsylvania. 7 exwives, 4 bankruptcies, and 3 children that hadn’t spoken to him in 20+ years. In the end, he was hustled by a “internet gal” for nearly all of his savings forcing him to live a paupers lifestyle with $4000 to his name.

While your parents were taken early, you have fond memories to look back on. It’s quality over quantity in this situation.

I fight an emotional battle every day. Six years ago lost my mother. She was the last blood relative I had remaining on the planet. Feelings of isolation are horrible.

On a side note, going through 7 wives is a hellofva run, cant imagine surviving that many divorces with any sense of sanity.

My Dad is the only person on this earth that I completely love. I am sorry for your loss.
I made sure that my name lives on. Had two sons that will most probably have children. I hope.

Lost a real good friend to an overdose a few weeks ago and that was hard enough. Couldn't imagine losing my mom. Or even my dad...although we don't see eye-to-eye it would still be awful.

I hear you. My mom hasn’t been a Saint, but she’s raised 3 kids by herself on a teachers salary....and we weren’t easy on her in our youth. We speak daily. The day she passes is going to be especially tough. I’ll tell you though, I have had a closer bond with my FIL than I ever had with my father. Sometimes the blood relative thing is over blown. Take solace in the relationships you do have.

In going through his possessions, I think any level of sanity was merely a pipe dream.

I feel your pain

Lost my Dad to a heart attack Dec. 30th 2003...8 days later some trash bag high on drugs crossed over the line on Hwy 22 in Springfield and took Mom from us...I was on my way to meet her at the bank to take care of things regarding Dad's passing

Hard to deal with, but you gotta keep chugging along for your family.
