now, it's back to cases or hospitalizations depending on who is talking

Its impossible to keep up. These people are exhausting.

chicken pox is also contagious via air borne droplets.

So wrong, every single time.

Chickenpox is a highly contagious disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV). The virus spreads easily from people with chickenpox to others who have never had the disease or never been vaccinated. If one person has it, up to 90% of the people close to that person who are not immune will also become infected. The virus spreads mainly through close contact with someone who has chickenpox.

Correct. I should have including a primarily in there. It is primarily spread through contact with the blisters or mucus from someone infected with it, but can also be air borne spread. Masks would help the latter, but not the primary way it spreads, so my point still stands.

Nuance is exhausting to the simple minded, so this isn't surprising.

Typical sheepish statement, when they don't understand what the frick theyre babbling about.

You've been asked for data to make "nuanced" decisions and you either don't have it, or are just making shite up.

I don't have to provide what is readily available to you via search engine. What you've already seen yourself. And I frankly don't care enough about assholes like you that try to shift goalposts constantly to fit your safe space narrative.

Because you don't know.

You're just flinging shite that other people have told you, which is uninformed.

How many kids drown in swimming pools every year? Should every swimming pool in America be filled in?

People have provided you very easily findable data regarding kids and you just throw out an article about one and declare everything else doesn't matter.

Muh nuance

The CDC reports hospitalizations and deaths for all of you to view. Ignoring the last spike and continuing to bury your head in the sand over it is quite sad.

Its anecdotal only but I work n the Bay Area. We have 0 pediatric pts with Covid

And I'd imagine your area has a high rate of vaccination. Here in Alabama, there have been double digit hospitalizations of kids with it. That is a low number when you look at the total case load. I think in this state we've had a few kids die from it, and several teachers.

The risk is there for kids, though it is small. It's even smaller when you set the standard on death. There are a host of outcomes though between not getting it and death. I don't really know at what risk level we decide on before required vaccinations are necessary. Perhaps if adults had been adults about this and gotten vaccinated, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Ahh that’s a point I had not considered. We are a heavily vaccinated area. Probably more so than Southern California. That would explain our lower hospitalizations.

Peds/PICU unit where I work at is pretty small to begin with. So I can only say what I see there. I can’t really speak for all of PHX metro. Also…I no longer work at the bedside…this is me doing my hospital surveillance for my daily COVID reporting I’m mandated to do to HHS.

There is always at least 1 kid in that unit that has COVID though at any given time since beginning of this summer. Some really young, some older. A few have been on the vents for a little bit(many of those kids had mild asthma to begin with). Some we transferred to a larger children’s hospital cause they needed more advanced care.

As a liberal I was against vaccines last year because Trump was president but now I am for forcing everyone to get them. I don’t have to explain my reasonings to anybody, I’m informed

A liberal would never support this mandate.

You people are progressives, not liberals.
