I'm sure you can point out where said property destruction and looting was completely decoupled from the issue they were rioting against, as in the case this week.

I sure can. We can start with the Tulsa riots in 1921.

It is simply understandable that people can be angry enough to do these things when they normally wouldn't.

What are the looters protesting? The cops were fired, they will be indicted. There are shitbags in every line of work. What more can be done? If the officers were hung immediately, it wouldn't change their actions. The fact there is looting in other cities further disproves any motives

I would kind of be more sympathetic to the animal scum if they would attack their local city halls and the governor’s mansion/offices

Well they did try to attack the police precinct last night, but the police had it barricaded.

Animal scum? I get how you feel but keep in mind They arent perpetrating dozens of hate crimes against white people.

While the celebs call for a race war There are plenty of white people running around freely and looting shite and not even being given a second glance.

This is, at its core, pent up anger about corona unemployment and a tyrannical police force who are literally god over you and I.

This shite is literally rage against the machine, and thus easy to manipulate. That said Candice Owens is still right about everything.

No, it's not. I've never been angry enough to do these things.
As I have tried to explain multiple times now, other people's lives are not your own.

I'm not special.
Debatable.

What it tells me is that these people are predisposed to acting like idiots when the opportunity presents itself. They are not functioning adults. They are petulant children.
You are clueless about the nature of people. ALL people are predisposed to acting like idiots. People do all sorts of crazy shite in groups. It's instinct, a product of evolution. If your people are attacking something, there is an natural desire to do the same. This is why mobs tend to riot, soldiers are able to kill, and police sometimes support other officers as they commit heinous acts.
quote:

But you're excusing their behavior...so try to be honest here.
Not excusing, understanding. They do not mean the same thing.
quote:

I asked a pointed question. You deflected, changed the subject, insulted me, etc. Why is that?
I did not deflect. I did hesitate at first, because the answer is necessarily insulting to you. You are unable to empathize with the people who are angry, and that IMO is the driving/multiplying force behind much of their anger. And btw empathize also does not mean excuse.
quote:

No, you didn't. You maintaining you did over and over doesn't make it so. Your post history says otherwise.
Care to link? I answered that the fact that you didn't already know the answer to your own question IS the answer. Do you still not understand what that means?
quote:

No, it's not. It's based in how you want the world to be, not how it is.
Mobs riot because mobs riot. It is understandable because it is human nature. That is my view of this situation. Not excusable, but understandable.
quote:

Such enlightened discourse, surely an indication of a rock solid premise.
It's a really simple concept, backed by the entirety of human history. Angry people in groups do fricked up shite that they normally wouldn't. It's not a matter of them being "petulant children" or idiots, it is a base instinct. Especially when one of the main sources of their anger is firing tear gas at them. Yeah, shite is getting destroyed, and it has nothing at all to do with maturity or intelligence.

This really shouldn't have to be explained to a functioning adult.

Apparently they abandoned that precinct. Hannity had a clip from there showing them trying to batter the front door down with a barricade. No cops in sight.

The media and powers thwt be want chaos. Corona is old news and things are rapidly returning to normal. Biden went and insulted a big chunk of his base. They need to win them back since he obviously lacks the charisma to do so himself.

Your problem is you are trying to rationalize irrational actions. There is absolutely nothing rational about it, and that's the whole thing. A lot of people have been pushed to the end of their ability to keep their composure.

As much as some people will deny it, here in 2020 there are still classes of people who are treated differently than others. Maybe it's not as overt as it was decades ago, but the sentiment is just as strong and ever-present. And it's not always racial.

It doesn't even matter if this particular cop is racist, it's just the spark that lit this fire.

this is an important point

So much of this stuff is subtle, even subconscious

If we're being honest with ourselves, we've all encountered it at some point.

But it's hard to be introspective about this because people corner up and get defensive.

A long as you realize this isn’t a defense or a justification.

Frankly, I don’t think it’s too much to ask for people that are pushed “too far” to channel their aggression into more appropriate channels instead of harming innocent people and burning down businesses.

Don lemon is already out on cnn squaking about how this is trumps fault.

Biden pissed off a chunk of his base. The hope is this will help win them back since he has zero charisma. Of course it doesnt work that way, but the media live in ivory towers while deciding what is and isnt news.
