They were popular at least 8 years ago in NYC. It's not a new thing and actually makes sense in the nasty slushy winter mess (boots, not necessarily $150 rubber boots...)

I lived in Chicago ten years ago and they were wearing them up there then.

When the hell did it become such a big deal to worry about what other people spend their money on?

I had an Ex that asked for a pair. She was excited when she first saw the green pair I bough from academy for $19 then she was pissed when she saw I wrote Hunter on them with a Sharpie.

Yeah, those have been popular for nearly a decade.

And although I'm not defending a $150 price tag, they aren't even close to the same thing as a shrimp boot. Hell, look up a pair of non-insulated LaCrosse boots that a lot of outdoorsman have, and it'll cost nearly that much.

Got some for Christmas (but in black and not shiny). It rains a lot so they aren't useless in Louisiana.

Wife has a pair, she got hers online from Costco for far cheaper. But yes overpriced rubber boots and not insulated.

The gf is as basic as it gets. She got these a couple years back so she could match her friends/Pinterest

My wife (no pics) has two pair and my daughter (she's 9 so definitely no pics) has one pair. All three combined I think we paid less than $150.

They were part of the official Sacred Heart grad Mardi Gras uniform 4 or 5 years ago.

Once there was this sorostitute who had to walk to class in the rain so she borrowed "daddy's" boots, low and behold the next day 500 more had the same boots on and it was sunny.

I hate the modern day feminist movement, but it's so laughable the way TD just bashes women on a daily basis. Like men don't spend money on frivolous and overpriced stuff

I'll bet it wasn't until recently they started selling $150 rubber boots.

Who's losing sleep? I'm laughing at them and their stupidity.

Also, they've been "trendy" among the young, professional women set for at least the past five years, up here at least

Key word there being young.

My husband paid over 5k for a mountain bike...a damn bike!

Anytime he tries to say something about what I spent on makeup, shoes, etc... I just calmly say "mountain bike"

In houston these are not very practical.

Whenever I see a girl wearing them, for fashionable reasons, I immediately put her in a category.

I would be more forgiving if we had snow/colder weather here

I'll make fun of any man spending $150 on a pair of rubber boots that are worth $15 at most.

So where are they?
