If you know you’re committed to this person and will eventually get married why not just do it before you move in together?
If you’re not sure if this is your life long companion or if you love them enough to make a commitment then why would you want to move in together?

25 years married and we lived together for almost a year pre marriage.

Still pretty cool to be white. Just not as cool as it used to be…

You test drive a car.
Shouldn’t you at least try it out before making a lifetime commitment.

Going on 34 years, so, good.

Good. Highly do not recommend getting married before you see how living with someone else is.
Wife and I lived together for 1.5 years before we got married

Those who live with each other before marriage get divorced more than those who do not.

So many variables that aren’t considered here. How many people live together and break up before they never get married (ie can’t get divorced because they figure it out before that)? How many that don’t live together are against divorce in most instances? Which we can argue about whether that’s a good thing or not, but it’s still not factored into the data

Ok, sure...but when comparing the two variables that are the topic of this tread, it has to be said that those living with each other before marriage have higher rates of divorce and lower rates of martial happiness.

If the data is representative of the population, no it does not have to said. In fact, it shouldn’t be said

It needs to be said based on the number of people who seem to think opposite of what the data is showing.

Damn, what a dumb statement. Go back to 4th grade math

You should be asking yourself if getting married is a good idea instead.
Boston Bob appears to be having trouble with this, as this is the “thesis” of the post.
Did not live together b4 marriage. Strongly believe in sanctity of marriage.
Aside from toothbrush/toothpaste and ketchup bottle in fridge or not, type of stuff living together day to day living, if you don’t know your life partner well enough by that point, shame on yall. My view. Living together more about free sex than practicalities of living together. That’s truth as I see it.
As usual, stick to your principles and not what is popular is good mindset, IMO.

So, it only needs to be said if the data is not indicative of the population...got it!
Seriously, the data shows it's not a good thing in regards to divorce and happiness.
What are you smoking...other than cock.

Marrying someone you haven’t lived with is fricking stupid. Full stop. So much liability to give up with no experience in how it’s going to go. I would drop kick my son if he told me he planned on marrying a girl he hadn’t lived with for at least 6 months
