Yes absolutely! Living together lets you see how crazy it can be.

I moved in with my husband before marriage. We lived together for a little over 2 years before our wedding, and have been married for over 2.5 years. Things are working out great. Personally I wouldn't want to marry someone I hadn't lived with.

I agree living together is the only way to proceed before putting a ring on it.

False. A lot of people find it harder to get out of an unhealthy relationship once they are living together because of the burden of moving out.

Yep. This is what we do and don't intend to change anything. We both work and have our "own" money. We both like to budget our own money so I think it would be weird for either of us to turn that over to the other person. And truth be told, I don't want to manage her money or worry about her buying shoes or clothes.

We'll have a joint account that we dump money into for savings, bills, travel, etc. The rest is for us to do what we want with.

Your system works a lot better than the other guy's

We pool our incomes together, pay expenses, set savings and investment targets then disperse the remainder for any personal items such as lunches, clothing, hobbies into personal accounts.

My wife is big on savings and has created an account that we both can access but is wholly separated from our normal bank.

Having completely separate accounts and paying "like roommates" can cause conflict when there are things one spouse considers as "family" where as the other sees it as "personal" such as dinners and date nights

The kind of woman who will live together with a man before marriage is not marriage material.

Multiply the size of her arse x 3, that's what you will have in 10 years.

Yep we recently had our one and only argument (about money) so we had a long discussion and broke down, in detail, what types of expenses we wanted to cover jointly.

We have been married 34 years and did not live together. Our oldest two kids are both married and didn't live together either. Point is, you don't have to drive a new Mercedes to know it rides like a dream. But I also know today's morals have changed and darn near everyone shacks up, so to speak. So you youngsters let the downvotes begin.
Have a great day....
