I spent 6 years living among Longhorn and Aggy people, with their texas accent... I'm not sure that is better or worse.

It’s damn near close to the same.

Longhorn fans are full of themselves like Tide fans except Texas doesn’t have the trophies to brag.

Aggie fans are friendly as individuals but are extremely strange as a group. Auburn fans are laid back and cool similar to Aggie fans individually.

Texans in general believe the entire world revolves around Texas and if you don’t drink the koolaid, somethings wrong with you.

Haven’t been through the I10 tunnel in the daylight in years. This is always faster except at night.

grew up in Spanish Fort when it was only like a 3,000 resident town.

I live in midtown Mobile now.

I've lived all over including renting on Dauphin Island which was pretty cool but while I was living there, Katrina happened which wasn't cool.

I’ve lived in the Wiregrass area of Southeast AL, commonly referred to as “lower AL”, since ‘11. Coming from South LA, it took a while to get used to the lack of water (as in lakes and rivers and stuff) but it’s grown on me. We have land to hunt, it’s quiet, not much traffic, and the cost of living is good.

Baldwin County wouldn’t be a bad spot to set up. However, I honestly can’t believe any housing or property is actually affordable for most folks, as it’s expensive down there. Want a pool? Crazy expensive. My bro in law lives in Loxley and does love it there. Schools there seem to be pretty solid as they get things many schools around where I live do not. It’s all about the money.

I’ll second what some other posters have said about southern Mississippi and the panhandle of FL. There’s some good spots in both. It’s sad how much LA has declined over the years and that so many folks are leaving. But, ya gotta do what you have to for your family, career, etc.

Good luck if you decide to head this way.

I never thought we would get to a point where Alabama is run better than Louisiana, but here we are.

I've lived in both states and currently live in Louisiana. This isn't new. Alabama's been run better than Louisiana for about 3 decades now.

Louisiana is a legit substandard state compared to Alabama and that's not an exaggeration.

GS and OB are still pretty dead in the winter months. An organization I’m involved with has their winter meeting down there every year for some reason. Usually the first week of December, and there are nights it’s a struggle to find a restaurant open.

I'm down there all the time during the off season. I've never had that problem. In fact, Gulfshores and Orange Beach fill up with Northerners who winter there.

Yeah, ALDOT isn’t great, or at least the politicians/bureaucrats running it aren’t great. There are a lot of important, heavily traveled roads in this state that do not receive the maintenance and care that they should receive.

I live in Louisiana and frequent Alabama often. I can promise you, infrastructure in Alabama is waaaaaaay ahead of Louisiana.

People who live in South Louisiana and don't get out much and People who don't live here and only visit for a weekend in New Orleans have no real appreciation for how poorly developed Louisiana actually is.

Louisiana is the closest thing to an underdeveloped country the United States has. Louisiana is as bad as Arkansas.
