I say trust your instincts, they're usually right. I would add that you should also do what you need to do to become financially independent. If you need to save more then by all means, save more. You should definitely have an exit strategy though.

Financially it wouldn't be an issue. I work full time and could swing the extra rent. It's mainly a living situation I've been in with a friend for a couple of years that's just gotten stale. Just ready to move on from it.

That was my initial thought. IMO the extra money id spend on rent etc. would be worth the peace and quiet.
If you value peace and quiet, it is absolutely worth the extra money.
I have lived alone for over 20 years (since I got done with college). If I ever get bored alone, I go find something to do. When I am at home, I love my individual space. I don't have to worry about someone eating my food or bringing someone over at all hours of the night or playing their music too loud or not cleaning up after themselves or not paying their share of the rent or them having an animal that sheds or them wanting to entertain guests when I am not in the mood , etc, etc etc.

Depends on where you live I suppose?
Living alone in NYC or SF isn't as feasible as BR.

For me, I decided to own instead of rent.
If roommates don't bother you then age doesn't matter. Never bothered me when I was single but if I had a gf, the privacy was nice.

Being able to drop trou and fap on the spot is a wonderful thing that roommates tend to frown upon

New Orleans. One bedrooms can be pricey, but there are deals around town.

At age 28, you should be old enough to make your own decisions without consulting a message board for approval. Seriously.

I'm 29 and currently looking for a roommate. I'm starting a new career and not making enough money to justify living on my own. My married friends will say what they want, but they have 2 post college incomes paying their note, I don't. Would I like to live on my own? You bet, but it's not feasible for me at this point in my life.

Asking opinions and fielding a discussion =/= seeking approval, turd.

You should ditch the roommates after college. Roommates after 25 are unacceptable. Roommates that you call mom and dad after 21 is also unacceptable.

I'm in the same boat as you. Recently went back to school and moved back in with the parents (I pay them rent, i'm not freeloading) until I graduate. I'm stacking money in to savings as well.

Coworker has two houses in Michigan, used to manage resorts up there. He's 55 and has a roommate here. There is no limit
